Priority One: Product Safety

We at S&S Worldwide are proud of our 101-year safety record, and share our customers’ concerns about the recent recalls of toys manufactured with lead paint. Our customer's safety is vital, and the safety of our products is our # 1 priority. Toys and other children’s products imported to the U.S. are now subject to intense safety standards and regulations. We continuously work to meet or exceed those standards.

To insure the safety of the toys we distribute, we will continue to monitor the recall situation very closely, use prudent judgment regarding the suppliers we buy from, and continue to require that all of our suppliers maintain documentation of their toy safety testing. S&S is not directly involved in, nor has it sold any of the merchandise currently being recalled. If we become aware of a recall involving a product we distribute, we will inform our customers openly and promptly.

S&S Worldwide does import several innovative, age-appropriate products from all over the world. We have made every effort to insure that all of the products we import are safe to use and meet all applicable state and federal safety regulations. Our Colorsplash paints, markers, crayons, pencils, dough, glitter, sand, chalk and glue, for example, conform to ASTM-D-4236.

These recent recalls demonstrate the importance not only of having safety standards, but of continuous improvement of the entire industry's testing, inspection and monitoring processes to insure those standards are met. We will regularly review our current product safety program, looking for ways to improve it and become even more vigilant.

Finally, we offer our products for use by children and special populations only under adult supervision, and are grateful to adult program leaders, teachers, and caregivers for all they do to keep our children and special populations safe from all sources of harm.
